Help with music fees

We may be able to help with the cost of music fees if your child receives instrumental/vocal music tuition from Hertfordshire Music Service, either in a Local Authority school or a Music centre.

Your child will be eligible for financial help with school expenses if you are receiving one of the following benefits:
  • Income Support,Income related Employment & Support Allowance or Income based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit - with a taxable income no more than £16,040 and not in receipt of Working Tax Credit
  • Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit)
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • you will not have to pay the fee for up to half an hour shared / group lesson per week, please contact your school / music centre for further information on lessons offered. If you are receiving any other benefit listed on page 3, you will pay only 50% of the fee.

If you complete the How Can We Help? application form, you can find out if you are eligible for help with the cost of music fees. You should also speak to your school/music centre to find out what lessons are available. The school/music centre has to provide further information before an application can be approved by Hertfordshire Music Service. There are deadlines each term for applications so if you think you are eligible please apply without delay. Music tuition should not commence until all the relevant paperwork is completed.
