Age Concern Dacorum offers:

Befriending for those who live alone and are unable to get out and about, providing friendship and social contact.

Carer's support offering help to older people caring for others. Providing emotional support as well as practical help. Also offers group meetings for mutual support.

Eleven day centres offering day care, door to door transport, refreshments, hot midday meal, socialising and outings; including two centres for ethnic Indian elders offering ethnic food and refreshments.

Handyperson schmeme offering small DIY jobs for those with on other help available. Also provides security equipment in partnership with the Fire and Police services.

Hospital discharge and independent living scheme to help with the adjustments after leaving hospital and returning home.

Information on a wide variety of subjects that concern older people. Includes free fact sheet service.

Telephone club, social contact for those who prefer not to have visitors.
