Health for Disabled Children

You should discuss your child’s health needs with his or her doctor or health visitor. Hertfordshire community child health services provide a wide range of services, which may include:

• Medical and nursing support from health visitors and school health teams
• Therapy services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and advice about diet
• Guidance on child development
• Providing medical appliances and special equipment
• Respite care for children with multiple disabilities
• Audiology and orthoptic services (help with hearing and sight problems)
• Dental services
